Applying VelocityGraffix Decals

Here are some important things to remember about vinyl:

1. Temperature Affects Everything, these should be applied at room temp. Too much heat will turn vinyl into shrink wrap. Cold vinyl is stiff and hard to work with.
*When Applying Full Body Graphics in hot weather, Allow Vehicle To Cool In A Shaded Area For At Least An Hour If It Has Been Exposed To Sunlight Before Applying Decals.

2. Cleanliness Is the key to a long lasting installation. If there's even the smallest grain of dust, it will cause an air pocket. Your car should be Cleaner than it's ever been before installing. All Door Jams and Fenders especially.

3. If you get water on the paper backing, it will become soggy and will stick to the decal.

4. We guarantee the vinyl, not the installation (Unless we do the installation). If you have questions, Please Call Us. 209-736-9697.

Things that you will need:

Spray bottle (can be purchased at an auto parts store in the window tinting section )

Razor blade (can be purchased at an auto parts store in the window tinting section )

Squeegee (can be purchased at an auto parts store in the window tinting section )

Blow dryer or heat gun

Some type of measuring device (tape measure)

And a friend to help.

How to:

1.) Fill Spray Bottle with water until full, with 2 drops of dishwashing liquid.

TIP: Keep in mind that more soap will give you more time to align the decals. Less soap will give you less drying time. If the decals start to stick before they are aligned, re-soap them.

2.) Clean entire surface of vehicle thoroughly, preferably waxed.

3.) Hold stripe or graphic next to vehicle to give you an idea of where it's going to go.

4.) Spray entire area of vehicle that is going to receive graphic with water solution.

5.) Peel backing off of graphic.

TIP: As you peel the vinyl from backing, spray the adhesive side of the vinyl only. This will keep the vinyl from sticking to itself while handling it. This will not affect the adhesiveness of vinyl after you're done. Try to keep the liquid off of the paper where there is still decal pieces, Soggy paper sticks to the backing of the decals.

6.) Wet the tacky part of the sticker thoroughly with the water solution. Both the vehicle and the sticker should be wet.

7.) Place the sticker on the vehicle where you want it and slide it into position.

8.) Now squeegee out the water and bubbles.

9.) Let the graphic sit for a few minutes, then spray the top of the sticker's backing tape to neutralize the tape's glue. Then squeegie again.

Note: Some kits won't have tape. Non-Masked graphics should be peeled from the backing carefully. Use plenty of liquid to keep them from sticking to themselves.

10.) SLOWLY peel the tape off at an angle,

11.) Once the backing is off, wet sticker once more and squeegee out any leftover air bubbles. .

12.) Trim all edges, hood, doors, etc. of excess vinyl with razor. Use razor to cut between doors, gas door, etc.

13.) Use blow dryer or heat gun to carefully dry and tuck in edges.

14.) Dry car carefully and let sit for 24hours before washing and waxing, or driving in inclement weather (rain/snow/freezing temp). Your vehicle is still driveable, the decals will not fly off.

15.) Next day, check all of the edges for lifting by rubbing over them with your finger.

Now you're ready to race, cruise, or show in style!!! So go take some pictures and send them to us...
